I don't understand this tread, is it relating real life relationships to online ones? It just seems like a whole bunch of flaming to me. o.O

@ John.

Okay. Lets stop it here between me and you then, becaus its not getting anywhere. You are not seing the fact that for some people it does work, and is not a waste of time.
What I am saying is that even IF it did NOT work, it sure would not be a waste of time. Its one of many ways to learn stuff about life.
And like you kept saying in replys to me, that most people who meet online never meet etc etc.. Well.. yes.. thats true.. But you seem to miss the part whitch I went through like ... 10 times atleast? I AM MOVING TO LONDON! and Jennifer lives there.. And I am NOT moving there BECAUS of her, but BECAUS of UNIVERSITY and permanent living place. And she lives there, as I've already made clear. I'd say the chanse for us to meet is bigger than not to meet. Even if just for a friendly chat at a bar, we would still most probably meet.

Also, I am not 'trying' internet relationships becaus I can't get any in real life. The thing for me is that I DON'T want to get them in real life.. atleast not with these girls in this part of the world. As I am clearly not planning to be still living here after about 2 or 3 years, why should I... I mean really.. I couldn't care any less about living with a finn. Why not then just open my eyes towards the direction Im heading to?

End of story tbh.

@ Avari Z, join in Flame or not flame, always some good points around and more people to talk about it is always a welcomed thing.

You meet someone online, they can say anything and you wouldn't know any better. Definitely people are more likely to lie online. You don't gain anything but theres no way people know you're lying, so you're more comfortable with it.

Yeah, poor me.. I haven't had luck with online or long-distance relationships, thats okay with me, cause im doing alright with the relationships with people i actually come in contact with on a regular basis.

I seem rude and arrogant to you, and you seem the same to me.

Maybe you're right though.. maybe no one should get into any relationships with people they ever have a chance meeting in real life. That would be a great idea. Sure would keep the spreading of STD's down.

A man will never win an argument with a mentally strong woman. Women are master manipulators and feel on a much deeper level than most men can comprehend. I learned long ago that the key to happiness in a relationship is to keep your woman happy.

Oh and this is to John Waffletord, who the hell are you to call Eyahls' online relationships worthless. She has the right to live her life the way she sees fit. I've never had an online relationship, and apparantly you've never had one that worked out for you, but she has.

Thank you. At the time I was extremely shy and found it VERY hard to trust people, not to mention my joint and muscle conditions meant I found it hard to go out and do the dating thing.
Sitting in cinema's, sitting and having a meal.. CUTTING MY OWN FOOD. It was the best way and I had a blast.

I chatted for months and months to each and became THE best of friends with them. When it finally came to meeting and taking the relationship from the internet to in person, I found I not only had a great bf whome I could trust and whome now knew EVERYTHING about me (yes the bad stuff too cos talking over the internet gives you more confidence), I also had a best friend.
I play WoW with one still even though our relationship ended about a year ago.

Now, I'm not into relationships. I'm into having blokes as mates (cos I get on with them better than women) and of course, going out/getting drunk/getting l**d

Since you obviously need this spelled out for you, as you didn't get my original comment, let me explain. Start any relationship on a emotional level, let that develope and grow first, once you are on a solid emotional basis, and if you both want the same thing then you can move onto a physical relationship - this applies to long-term relationship building, not short term or flings.

Where did you ever get the idea I don't like cuddling and being close to someone, reading between the lines I think. You're entitled to whatever opinion you have, but word as an opinion and not as the only way that works or make it sound like you're telling someone else(such as the OP or Eyahl) what they should do, which is exactly what all of your posts read like.

Now may I suggest you refrain from posting in this thread anymore, no one really agrees with you or wants your opinion anymore.

I said that as a joke actually. Its completely obvious that a relationship isn't going to work if one side isn't happy with it.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. I understand the way relationships work and i am definitely against short-term physical relationships. I was mearley stating that in a relationship that is long-term, that has grown emotionally, but has no room to grow physical there is a sense of frustration. I never said you didn't like cuddling or being close to someone, i was saying you can't do that in a relationship that exists online, or in any other long-distance situation.

Of course you may suggest that, however, what fun would the world be if everyone thought the exact same way and no one was around to disagree? It is human nature to disagree with people, and i don't understand why everyone is taking my opinion so personally and getting defensive.
